Commercial Invoice means, a document required by customs to determine true value of the imported goods, for assessment of duties and taxes. A commercial invoice must identify the buyer and seller, and clearly indicate the date and terms of sale, quantity, weight and/or volume of the shipment, type of packaging, complete description of goods, unit value and total value, insurance, shipping and other charges (as applicable).

If the company is a member of any Chambers of Commerce in India like PHD Chambers of Commerce, FICCI, Delhi Chambers of Commerce, India Chambers of Commerce etc. then they could generate the Certificate of Origin from their respective Chambers of Commerce. Then the Commercial Invoice will be attested from Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), New Delhi, Government of India. Finally the Commercial Invoice will be Attested and Legalized from the Embassy / Consulate / High Commissioner of the destination Country present in India.
